INSURANCE
In order to get your car registered or to get the registration renewed, you'll need to have a Compulsory Third Party Insurance. This is a legal obligation. The Sydney Travellers Car Market no longer offers this insurance, but you can find all the information you need and quotes per state on this website. The Compulsory Third Party Insurance will cover the medical bills in case you cause an accident with your car. It does not cover any damages to the car.
On top of that, you can choose to get a Third Party Property insurance. If you have an account with an Australian bank like Common Wealth Bank or Westpac, it's probably easiest to get this insurance with them. This insurance comes in different shapes and sizes, depending on what you want. This will cover damages to the car in case of theft or accidents.
